  • It's a 1972 Landcruiser! The foot generator was of Korean Way vintage.  It was rendered useless by water damage from Hurricane Hugo on 22 September 1989 when roof was blown off storage building.  Water had penetrated it's innards which wasn't detected until months later.  Rust and corrosion  did  major damage. We know that Carl (W4EAT) still has the pickup truck and is in the process of refurbish it as we speak.

  • The photo "Field Day 1980" is more than just me and Dex at FD. While Dex (W4DEX) in operating in his Landrover I am generating the power by shifting my weight from pedal to pedal much like the stairstep exercise machine. I didn't weigh near as much back then and it was really work. Dex may be able to add more details about this "machine".

  • I question if this pic was the same event.  We operated at the college in a field where a trailer was parked one year.  The field is now where the Snyder building is located.
